A Commitment from DMSA

On behalf of DMSA, I write and commit to you -- from the deepest recesses of our being and with all that we have and all that we are -- to move our University forward. I am sorry for the terrible, inexcusable injustices and hurtful acts that you have endured as a K-State student. And while we cannot erase or take away those experiences, I and the DMSA team commit to work tirelessly to create a better and more inclusive K-State into the future. And we will do this together. Please see President Myers’ action steps presented to our K-State community yesterday, A Message from President Myers.

As you know, the action steps identified by President Myers are just a few of the things that need to occur. DMSA has been working on an equity agenda that outlines many, many more action items that will take place, and we will be creating the structures necessary to gain your input and involvement in these efforts. Additionally, all units within the Division of Student Life are focused on creating goals to “Advocate for Equity” as a part of its new strategic plan. As we celebrate the opening of the Morris Family Multicultural Student Center, it will not only serve as a home to you and your student organizations, and the hub for our cultural celebration, enrichment and engagement, but also as a center of accountability for the transformative change that is to occur at K-State. We are eager to complete and move into the Morris Family Multicultural Student Center in late Fall, so please begin planning and scheduling your activities and events for the Spring semester with Trumanue, tlindse@ksu.edu 500 Internal Server Error

Class of 2020 Multicultural Graduate Tribute!

Diversity & Multicultural Student Affairs would like to say congratulations to the graduating class of 2020. This is a great achievement and huge milestone for your life. Because we cannot celebrate with you during spring commencement, we have put together a short tribute of encouraging words and submitted photos to recognize and honor you in your accomplishment! Congratulations and go Cats!

Greetings to You from Department of Multicultural Student Affairs

Dear DMSA Family, Friends, and Community,

Let us take this moment to assure you that we care about you, our entire DMSA community.  We wish for you to take special care of yourself and others during these changing times.

K-State continues its limited operations status going into the summer months while we plan for the campus “re-awakening” so that we may return to supporting our students’ academic endeavors in welcoming and safe environments.

Please be assured that DMSA remains here to offer support and assistance to our students, and we encourage you to reach out to us any time.  We do respond to calls on our main phone line, 785-532-6276, so do not hesitate to call.

We miss each of you, and we look forward to the time when we can see you in the coming fall, or when the time is right for your safety and ours.

If you have any questions regarding our efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, or any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact a DMSA representative or monitor K-State’s updates: //www.lqqzsn.com/covid-19/

With Purple Pride; stay safe
